Mortgage rates go up to 4.40%

United States — Thursday, July 29, 2010

National mortgage rates on 30-year fixed mortgages climbed 1 basis point from 4.39% to 4.40% on July 29, 2010, according to Zillow Mortgage Marketplace. As a comparison, state rates ranged from a low of 4.25% (HI) to a high of 4.75% (NV).

Compared to the week prior to July 29, 2010, the national 30-year mortgage rate is up 2 basis points from 4.38%. Compared to three months ago, the 30-year rate is down 49 basis points from its average rate of 4.89%.
